2012 AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Pet Food Experts, of Cumberland, RI, was named the 2012 Ken Chancey Distributor of the Year and P&G Petcare, Mason, OH, was named Supplier of the Year during PIDA's Annual Awards Banquet, January 24, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort in Bonita Springs, FL . Both companies were recognized as part of PIDA's Performance Benchmarking Awards.

The Distributor of the Year award was renamed the Ken Chancey Distributor of the Year Award in 2010 to honor the memory of the former PIDA president who passed away in December. Mr. Chancey was president of PIDA from 1998-1999 and served on the board of directors for more than a decade. He was a spirited leader of the organization, always pushing the board to find ways to enhance manufacturer-distributor communications and to improve the health of the pet industry at large.

The Awards program recognizes manufacturers and distributors for specific policies and practices that help drive cost from the distribution channel and that make the companies good channel partners. Companies are recognized in three categories of achievement:
