Coastal Pet Products, Inc. of Alliance, OH was runner-up in the Supplier of the Year balloting. Phillips Feed & Pet Supply, of Easton, PA took runner-up honors in the Distributor of the Year category.
The Distributor of the Year award was renamed in 2010 to the Ken Chancey Distributor of the Year Award. Ken Chancey was president of PIDA from 1998-1999 and served on the board of directors for more than a decade. Ken was a spirited leader of the organization, always pushing the board to find ways to enhance manufacturer-distributor communications and to improve the health of the pet industry at large. The award name was changed to honor his memory.
The Awards program recognizes manufacturers and distributors for specific policies and practices that help drive cost from the distribution channel and which make the companies good channel partners. Companies are recognized in three categories of achievement:
